Mark Schlicher - Producer, Director, and Cinematographer
Mark Schlicher is a documentary producer, director, and cinematographer with nearly 40 years of media experience. His work has been shown nationally on PBS and The Smithsonian Channel. A longtime Nashville resident, Mark first learned about William Edmondson in early 2013, at the time he started to pursue his own passion for sculpting. Mark has traveled extensively overseas for documentary projects, and shoots regularly for the Associated Press, as well as commercial clients. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a bachelor’s degree in education.
For the last two years, Mark has immersed himself in original research to uncover previously unknown details about William Edmondson’s life and art. Mark joins a long list of artists who have been inspired by Edmondson’s work and biography.
Jackie Welch Schlicher - Co-Producer and Narrator
Jackie Welch Schlicher is a director, writer, actor, and creative life coach with over thirty years professional experience. Her acting credits span stage, film and network television. She has shared the screen with Gwyneth Paltrow, Patty Duke, Michael McKean, Cheech Marin, and Eric Roberts. As a director, Jackie has helmed such stage productions as “A Raisin in the Sun,” “The Colored Museum,” “Harlem Voices,” “The Mountaintop,” and “My Soul is a Witness”.
Jackie is a native of Nashville, and grew up on the Fisk University campus as the daughter of a Fisk faculty member. She graduated from Duke University with a degree in psychology.
